February 15, 2014

Today was Lilli's fifth birthday party! Five seemed so much older before I had an almost 5 year old. Mom and dad came by and took the kids with them so Bill and I took advantage of the time and went for a nice lunch at the Bright Star. After that it was to Target, to Hannah's to wake her up and then to the party. Tyler and Will had a great time playing with their cousins and Lilli seemed to love the gifts from our family.
Fun times with Dad throwing them on the bed before they left.
Playing with Gaga at the party
This boy has never met a room full of toys he didn't love. They can be purple, pink, blue, red. It doesn't matter.
Checking out the crown and vanity table.
Princess Mommy and her Prince Charming
Almost time to party!!!
He loved this grill set.
Hanging with his best bud daddy.
Climbing on top of everything!!!!
Pizza and juice pouch break for this pirate.
Sweet boy.
Ryan has an arcade game in an extra bedroom. I caught Tyler watching the big boys very carefully while they were playing.
He loves her so much.
No caption needed.
He got to play!!!
Lilli and her presents from us :)
Cousins!!!
Sweet Liam and the soon to be added to the family Amanda!
Happy birthday Lilli!!!
After the party we went and watched Hannah try on wedding dresses. She found the one and it is perfect! I so wish I could post pictures but that will have to wait until May 3rd.
Now I am at work trying to make it until 7 am. My only consolation is that I don't have to do this again until the 28th. I am thankful for a job that gives me a chance to help people and bring a good word from God during some of their hardest times.

February 14, 2014

Valentines Day! We had our class day Valentine party this morning. Tyler was up until 1 this morning and Will was up at 530 so I was exhausted. I don't know how I ran on no sleep when Tyler was a baby. Tyler shares his toys so well with Grace. She is a sweet kid.
We were supposed to bring something to share for brunch so we brought the cookies they made last night and ordered  10 sausage biscuits from Kimbrell's to pick up on the way.
The kids Valentines boxes.
Will and I played bean bag toss a little differently than most do. We sat there and hit at it and then Will crawled off with it.
Then Tyler and Grace came and joined in.
The crazy boys ran around the gym with buckets on their head.
After the party we met the Yanceys at a consignment sale in Hueytown. Sissy loves her baby Will
This was a cute picture that was impossible to get. They were both laying on their tummies playing our phones. In order to get a picture I had to take my phone.
The 3 of them ran around this circle a hundred times.
We had some candy left over from our Valentines party this morning so we decided to go to the nursing home and pass it out. Hailey ran in to CVS and picked up a couple more bags. It sounded like such a quick and easy trip. It. Was. Not. We were there just shy of 3 hours and passed out candy to over 90 residents. Our candy supply brought up memories of Jesus and the fish and loaves. We managed to finish with exactly no candy left. All 3 kids wanted to give candy to every person we saw. The residents loved seeing the kids in their cute Valentines clothes and getting some hugs and candy. I really hope we do this more often. I want my children to have the memories I have of visiting nursing homes. Mom, I had no clue how much work this was for you! You are the bomb!
These two are ridiculously silly. They are such good friends right now. I will be sad if they outgrow it one day.
When we got home Bill had me flowers and a new charm for my bracelet. I love the picture of a husband that he tries to show our sons.
I stayed up for maybe 10 minutes after we got home and then I took a wonderful, long nap. I woke up feeling so refreshed and have been taking to Tyler all night about what it means for Jesus to love us and how much mommy and daddy love him and Will and each other.
The last thing I told him was that I wished every child in the world could be as loved as he is. Every child needs this kind of love and affection. I am praying for God to show Bill and I how we can show his love to those who are without it. As I think of kids around the world who cry themselves to sleep because of hunger, abuse or other horrors of this world I pray that God sends them a comforter. It occurs to me that it is possible that one day Bill and I could be called to love a child who is somewhere right now without love and safety tonight. I pray especially for them and for the future wives of my sons.
After I finished this Tyler told me he wants our family to have 6 kids. I told him I didn't know how many kids God has for our family. He told us God had him, Will, Kason, Sissy, Lilli and Jacob. I am thinking we will have a hard time convincing their parents to let us have them. He did say if we couldn't get them we could have a baby sister and name her Lakey. I told him we will see.

This morning Tyler and Will woke up wrestling. Bill left for work about 7:30 to brave the icy roads. He made it safely there. I am so thankful for what a dedicated employee he is. He does such a good job at providing for our family.
About two minutes in Tyler took a finger to the eye. He didn't like it at all.
Then we looked outside. Just beautiful.
I got Tyler ready to go play in it but he didn't want to. I called and asked my parents if we could come out there and let Tyler and I play outside while Will stayed in with them. We went out there but Tyler still didn't want to play. I was totally ok with that.
Mom was making a cake so Tyler helped by licking the whisk after she mixed up the icing. Will got a taste too.
Tyler loves the movie Mega Mind. Whenever Mega Mind puts on his Black Mamba suit Tyler puts his on too. Last year whenever he would go bat during TBall he would walk down the fence facing the crowd holding his arms up for his Black Mamba. I really hope he is a little more interested in the game this year.
Have I mentioned Will is a wild man? He wanted to be closer to mom so he climbed up on their scale. I held him safe until mom got her hands free so I could get a picture. Mom said this was a disaster not a Kodak moment but I disagreed.
A few weeks before. Christmas two donkeys wandered up on the mountain. They have never left. Now my parents are feeding then. Tyler loves it.
With all the snow we got yesterday today was a beautiful day.
Tomorrow is his Valentine party so we had to make a box to put his cards in. We had discussed a rocket but there was no way that he would really even be able to help with that so we went with something simpler. It looks just like a 4 year old little boy made it and I love it.
Will hung out with his Dad while we crafted.
Then mom had made sugar cookies for Tyler to decorate. Pretty lucky kid.
He plays with different toys in the shower forever. I love to sit outside the bathtub and listen to him.
Finally he worked on the last of his Valentines. This one is to Kason from Cinderella.
Hannah hasn't been feeling good so she went to the doctor Tuesday. He sent her for some tests Wednesday and they came back a little abnormal so she will see a general surgeon Monday. If anyone reads this I ask for your prayers for her and her health.
