One Exhausted Mommy

For some reason, Tyler has is still not sleeping through the night.  He rarely ever sleeps for more than 3 hours at a time, and after that initial 3 hour stretch he is usually up every hour.  Most nights, I can nurse him back to sleep pretty easily when he wakes up.  However, last night he would not go back to sleep.  I snapped a picture about every 30 minutes from about 1:30 to 3:30 this morning.  At 3:30, I went into our bedroom and begged Bill to get up and play with him for a little bit so I could at least get 30 minutes of sleep.  Bill said they came in the living room and sang “Hole in the Bottom of the Sea” a few times.  Then, Tyler gave him an exhausted smile and laid his head on his shoulder and went to sleep.  That stinker!

2:30 a.m.  I had real hopes for sleep at this point because he stared off at nothing grinning for about 5 minutes.

Baby Dedication

Sunday, we had a dedication service for Tyler, John and Jacob.  We were charged as parents to raise Tyler in a Christian atmosphere and give him all opportunities available to know Jesus.  Our church and family vowed to support us and pray for us in our journey as parents.  All of our family was there and it meant so much to us.

Tupperware for Mommies

When I was fixing Bill’s lunch for Friday, I realized I was out of small Tupperware bowls thanks to Bill’s complete inability to bring home his lunch dishes.  Thanks to Tyler, the solution was staring me right in the face.  Celery sticks and peanut butter a la Gerber.

Sleeping in his Big Boy Bed

Since we brought him home, Tyler has slept in a bassinet in our bedroom.  I had said I was going to move him out when he was 4 months old but after our house was broken into I retracted my previous statement.  Friday, January 8th, I decided it was time to put him in there.  I didn’t sleep for a few nights but now we are all sleeping better.

Roll Tide!

What an amazing first Alabama football season this was for Tyler!  We capped it off watching the big game at my parent’s house.

Tyler meeting John and Jacob for the first time – I am aware how horrible Jackie and I look but I am hoping that the extreme cuteness factor of Bri and the boys will tone it down a bit :)

Sitting Up!

The day after Christmas, Hayden and Kason were at Mom’s for a visit.  Tyler saw them sitting up and playing with his toys and had to join in!  My boy is growing up so fast!

Christmas Morning

This year, we went to Ronald McDonald house on Christmas morning to cook breakfast for everyone who was spending their Christmas there.  Even our teenage boys got up super early and joined us.  IT was a great way to share the love of Jesus and try to provide a small comfort for families who are hurting.  We had a great time and look forward to having this Christmas tradition for our family.
