New Chapter of Life

Today, I joined the ranks of the unemployed. It was by choice, and for the most part I feel good about it. I have had such a wonderful eight and some odd years working for the best group of guys out there. I have really missed seeing them every day. But, as I sit here and watch my sweet baby sleep, I know we made the right choice. Being Tyler's Mommy is the most important job I have, and in order to do a good job at it, there isn't a lot of room for much else. Eddie, John, Jimmy, Dwight, and even you, Henry - I love you guys! You all have your own special place in my heart.
So, if Bill and I aren't able to join you for a nice dinner out or if I skip girl's night, don't take it personally. We're probably gonna be broke! :)

Better Late Than Never

Right after Tyler hit his one month birthday, I found the cutest stickers online. You just stick them on a onesie or t-shirt and take a picture to record the birthday for every month up to a year old. This picture wasn't taken until today 6 weeks 6 days, but I had to have it to go with the rest. Can't wait to watch him grow! If you want to order some for your little one, go to pickysticky.com!

Rolling Over

Sunday, I commented to my Mom that one of the babies on a message board I read for moms with babies born in May and June had rolled over. Mom said that Tyler could roll over too. I told her that he could not! Well, always intent on proving me wrong, she put down a quilt and put him down on it and he just rolled right over. Then again and again. This video is of him rolling for the second time, as I didn't have my camera ready the first time because I was pretty sure nothing was going to happen :) He rolls from his stomach to his back and will do it to either side. This boy will be crawling before we know it!

Ladies who Lunch

Tuesday, Tyler and I met Jessica, Jackson, Becky, Faith and Alyssa for lunch at McAllister's. It was so much fun catching up and watching Jackson and Alyssa play. Tyler was pretty fussy except for when Jackson was holding him. He just calmed right down. Jackson was so loving towards him. It was the sweetest thing ever, and big thanks to Becky for getting such great pictures of the lovefest. In all of the times Jackson has been around Tyler he has seemed sorta uninterested, but Tuesday he was all about that baby. I can't wait until these two grow up and can run around together, and probably chase Alyssa :)
After we left McAllister's, we saw a very large duck crossing on 4th Avenue. I have always noticed the Duck Crossing sign, but this was the first time I had actually witnessed them crossing the road. It was pretty neat.

Wednesday was Bible School and a fun day with Brianna. Brianna's Nina (Aunt Suzi) and Aunt Beth both had surgery Wednesday so Brianna hung out and went to Bible School with us.
Thursday I noticed some drainage around Tyler's ears so Friday was a trip to the Dr. I was so worried I had given him an ear infection because I ran his bath too full Monday and ignorantly let the water get in his ears. I definitely shed some tears worrying about what I might have done to my baby. Luckily, it wasn't an ear infection. Dr. McAffee told me that the drainage was from his baby acne and gave us a prescription for a cream that would clear it up.
Saturday, Bill had an all day class to attend for work, so my parents came and picked up me and Tyler. We had a good day at Granny and PaPaw's.
Sunday, we went and ate lunch with Bill's parents, Nonnie and Papa. They had grilled every type of meat imaginable. After lunch, Bill and I made a quick trip to our house to pick up a few things and Tyler stayed with Nonnie and Papa. I know they enjoyed time alone with him and I am sure he was soaking up all of the attention he was getting.

Another Great Weekend

Friday, Tyler wore his last Newborn size diaper. As you can see, it would barely fasten. This little guy is growing so fast!

Saturday we went to Tyler's cousins 3rd birthday party. The party was a pirate and mermaid theme complete with a mermaid lagoon and a plank to walk. Everything was so cute! Happy birthday Georgia and Jackson!

Sunday was church and a bridal tea. This is the bride, mother of the bride and Grandmother of the bride(Ashley, Kelly and Aunt Bobbi). Ashley will make a beautiful bride!

5 Weeks

Tonight I put Tyler in one of his cloth diapers to see how it would work. So far, so good. And I do have to say, he looks super cute in it. He just looks like such a big boy in this picture.
He loves to be outside. Tonight, while I was buying groceries, Bill had to spend the whole time outside with him. He wouldn't have it any other way. Bill is so sweet with him trying to keep him happy. Tyler is a lucky guy to have such a great dad. I know Bill can't wait until he and Tyler can load up and go fishing or hunting. If time keeps flying like it has these last five weeks, it won't be long.

Happy Boy!

I caught a smile Tuesday night!

Like Father, Like Son

Tyler looking just like his daddy watching the Home Run Derby.

Swim Time!

Sunday, Hailey and Kason came over to Mom's and we took the boys out in the pool for the first time. Tyler loved it!

One Month Old

I forgot to take any pictures on his one month birthday until we were going to bed. But, I couldn't let the day pass without getting a picture. Happy one month birthday Tyler!

Bath Time!

Catch Up

The last week has been a busy one. We met most of the family at Habanero's last Tuesday to eat lunch with Cari. As I was getting him ready to go, I noticed he had lost his umbilical cord. Not that I wanted to keep it, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Still haven't come across it. After lunch Hannah went with us to get some VBS decorations from West Jefferson and then to see Granny at work. Then, Hannah and I went to get groceries and Tyler stayed back and hung out with Bill.

Thursday, Tyler had to go back to see Dr. Israel to get his weight checked. Lydia came along to help out. He weighed in at a whopping 8 lb 2 oz. I was thinking he was so big and then I realized he was only 1 oz bigger than JT was when he was born and still wasn't close to Jackson's birth weight. Half a pound makes a big difference at this size. Then, we headed over to Mom and Dad's. We stayed there Thursday night and left Tyler with Mom long enough to go to the car lot and come back riding on the same dead horse we left on. Looks like it will be another week or so before we decide on a new car. Bill said he now knew how Scrat, the squirrel on Ice Age, feels chasing that acorn. He has tried to make me buy a new car for the last 3 years and when he was close enough to taste it we have to start all over again.

Saturday was the 4th which is a huge holiday for my family. Lots of food and fun with family. Tyler and I took a 5 hour nap after all the festivities. We were exhausted! I absolutely love this picture of Tyler with the guys at the grill. I accidentally deleted it when I uploaded my card but was able to recover it with some free software I found online.

Sunday we made it to church and then ate leftover barbecue at Grandmother's for lunch.
Monday was birthday parties for Danielle and Tori at Grandmother's. It is so hard to believe Danielle is old enough to drive (with a permit) and Tori is starting school this year.
Tuesday I had to go for a follow up with Dr Robinett and Jackie had to go for an appointment to check on the twins. It was sooo cool to see the two of them bouncing around on the ultrasound screen. Jackie and John definitely will have their hands full!
Finally, yesterday was the first day of VBS. We are doing it on Wednesday nights all summer long. Tyler and I were happy to come home and rest after such a long day at the church.

Today, we are taking the day to rest and straighten up around the house. Lydia came by and helped Tyler rest for a bit. I can't believe we have already had this little man for 4 whole weeks!
